11 December 2013 - Passeport renewal in San Francisco

The main goal of this trip was to renew my and Mila's Swiss passport...then we decided to extend a little bit our stay to enjoy this beautiful city ;-)

It does not seems too far to drive...yet we took the plane over the Rockies, beautiful!!

The Rocky Mountain from our plane from Denver

We rented out an apartment on VRBO.com (vacation rental by owner) and we found a really nice place in the heart of the city:

Perfect location in SF!!
The owners were really nice (David and Vallie) and the place absolutely gorgeous (in an historical victorian house), perfect for a family of 3. The neighbourhood (Duboce Triangle) is really a nice area, close to the exciting "Market Street" and at about 15min by tramway to the piers.

Contact details:
David: +1 415 706 4019 / +1 415 241 9604
Vallie: +1 415 215 5146
Address: 148 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA 94117

What was really cool, was to have a French bakery just next door!!

"Café du Soleil" on the same street...perfect!!
Mila enjoying a slice of lemon cake..."yummy in my tummy" as she would say!!
San Francisco probably has hundreds and hundreds of bakery...and compare to Denver metro area (at a rare few exceptions), they are AWESOME!!!

At "Tartine Bakery & Café"...
Mila and Wai Leng enjoying their breakfast at "Tartine"...

Beside eating, we also did walk a lot...really a lot... Not to mentioned that we were super-lucky with the weather, blue sky everyday!!!

"Pier 39", the most famous pier around here, really nice
View of SF from the piers
Mila having fun...
We did not have the time to visit Alcatraz this time, but still we have a picture of its most (in)famous inmate
Probably the most famous pier...
"Boudin", another great bakery on pier 39
Mila helping us with the maps
Sausalito and Tiburon, two must go destination to visit the "nice" part of San Francisco...and a really good restaurant
Scoma's of Sausalito, great food and a beautiful view on the SF bay.
Wai Leng and Mila are both excited to take the boat

Great view on the way back on Alcatraz and San Francisco bay
The "Golden Gate" bridge
Seal season in SF, on pier 39
For the story, we only spent about 25 minutes at the Swiss Embassy to renew the passeports...
